The Telco/Cable System Database Group is comprised
      of (7) individual databases

The TelcoCable database includes all of the data available in Telephone2008 and all of the data from SoftMedia's Cable Group. Using our System Identification Number you can index/sort the database and create maps of Telco and Cable boundaries. You can view Telco/Cable data by area code, prefix, house-holds, cable franchise, digital service, Internet, Telco service providers or hundreds of combinations. This new version has a number of new data fields:
COMMALIAS. This datafield is the community alias name  As an example; Most of the Primary zip codes have the same name in large cities such as Los Angeles or New York. The community alias is the alias name given to small communities within the large city areas. (Example: Los  Angeles = Whittier) (Sample Map)

CONSUMERS,
you can now limit your queries for only those zip codes serving residential areas.
ACCESS LINES, number of Wired Access Lines by zip/operator/NPA-NXX or any other combination
of data fields.
BUS_POBOX, you can construct your query to eliminate AP0’s PO Boxes and zip codes assigned to specific 
companies or buildings.
DUPLICATEZIP, query and sum data while ignoring duplicate zip codes.
ALTSYSTEM, Cable Operator serving a specific zip code.
BROADBAND, identifies each cable operator by zip code and community that provides broadband digital service
and those operators that only provide analog service.

     The TelephoneCable database includes data fields for the Cable Operator and Cable Subscribers for 
     each geographic area.

Because of the large size of TelephoneCable databases, SoftMedia has created a set offiles by Region. The US is divided into four regions. The two digit number next to each state is the State FIPS Code. The file names use  _MIDWEST.XXX format.

The Telephone Section of the Telephone/Cable System Database Group is comprised

1.    Telco2008 - Database - 5,804 Records      Product Code 201
The Telecom 2008 database is a detailed database of Telephone Companies and
includes complete contact data with management, telephone, addresses and emails.
Each record provides data on service type including those providing cable
television service.   

2.    Lata2008- Database - 124,169 Records            Product Code 202
A LATA is a geographical area in which the local telephone company is allowed to
carry local and long distance toll calls. The LATA boundary is the point where your
call is handed off from your local carrier to your long-distance company. These areas
were defined at Divestiture, when Judge Greene broke up the AT&T monopoly in
1984. The companies LATA database goes far beyond data provided by others and 
includes NPA (Area Code), NXX (Prefix), Zip Code, City, State, and LATA Number.
SoftMedia's LATA2008 database can be imported into most mapping software
programs so that you can create your own unique LATA Maps. 

3.    Telephone/Cable2008- Database - 193,938 Records         Product Code 203
The Telephone/Cable2008 is the most complete set of data currently available for the Industry.
With over 193,000 records the Telco2008 database list 25 datafields for all
combinations of NPA/NXX/Zip Codes. Each 5 digit zip code covers all NXX codes for
Wireless, PCS and Wireline operators, Cable Operators, House-Holds, Population, and 
Cable Subscribers. 

4.    Telephone & Block Group Database – Records 318,370      Product Code 206.
       If you are looking for data regarding income, occupation or education etc.., then the
       smallest geographic unit for which you'll be able to get that data is the block group.
       The Tract/Block group database is quite large and is best used by applying the data in
       an overlay to your base map.
